Selectman Richard H. Thackston moved to withdraw $56,000 from the Fire Department Capital Reserve Fund to purchase fourteen replacement air packs; Selectman TJ Chasse seconded and the motion carried 3‑0‑0. The Board of Engineers separately voted to approve the expenditure with all three members in favor.
The purchase replaces aging equipment; department leadership characterized it as necessary for firefighter safety and readiness. The Building/Finance offices will process the withdrawal and purchase under the capital‑funds authorization.
