Thomasville council approves $150,000 ordinance for greenway study along Memorial Park Drive

The funds are earmarked for study, engineering and design of greenway expansion on Memorial Park Drive from Unity Street to East Main Street and may include potential links to Winston Street. Council Member Payton Williams moved to approve the ordinance; Mayor Pro Tempore Lisa Shell seconded. The motion carried 6–0.
The ordinance authorizes staff to contract for engineering services and begin project planning. The minutes do not specify the selected consultant, project timeline or construction funding; those details will be determined during the design and procurement process.
