Nashua School District outlines soft rollout for centralized welcome center at Birch Hill

The Finance and Operations Committee heard details on a new centralized welcome center the district is preparing at Birch Hill.
Dr. Andre Andrade said the district transferred $50,000 into line items to establish the welcome center, purchased furniture and prepared SOPs. The district intends a soft rollout around Oct. 15 focused on secondary families and a broader opening by Jan. 1.
Staffing plans include four enrollment specialists, an office manager and family-engagement coordinators; the center will also host translation services and offer appointment-based registration support. The welcome center is intended to streamline registration, reduce duplicate visits to multiple schools and improve data quality in response to prior DOJ settlement work, Dr. Andrade said.
The committee recorded appreciation for plant operations and IT staff that prepared the facility and for the business office’s work on budget transfers. Staff said they will issue communications about the soft opening in the coming week.
Next steps: finalize SOPs, publish communications for the soft rollout and share audit/transfer documentation with the committee and full board.
