Town Manager Jessica Cyr reviewed changes made so far to the town’s personnel policy and brought several items to the board’s attention. The board discussed clarifying the length and definition of probationary or introductory periods, distinguishing between employees who are hired versus those who are appointed, and defining what constitutes a work week and how vacation is calculated for employees scheduled to work more than 40 hours per week. Cyr said she will look for additional information to resolve how to handle the work-week and vacation entitlements and return with recommended language for the policy.
The minutes record discussion and staff follow-up but do not show formal adoption of specific policy language. Further action would appear on a future agenda when staff returns with clarifying information.
