Resident and property owner Dave Passios raised concerns June 22 about a plastic culvert on Valley Road that he said has torn sections exposed above the gravel and is vulnerable to plow damage.
Passios provided photos and told the Select Board he will work with local contacts and engineer Shawn Sweeney on design and permitting. He said funding for the estimated project is already set aside and that he will research whether the project requires a historical review or state signoff. Passios noted that because the road is class 6, grant pathways differ from private-property work and that the board and he may need to clarify ownership or pursue a town‑meeting action for abandonment if necessary.
Chair Norman Brown asked Passios to keep the board informed as he consults NRCS and the engineer. The board did not take a formal vote on the culvert or bridge during the meeting but recorded the public comment and that engineering and documentation work is in progress.
