Board sets public hearing for proposed West End health services district on June 3

County Attorney Julie Andrews told the board the county received a service plan submission for a proposed health services district on the West End of Montrose County and that the statutory process requires the board to set a public hearing within 30 days.
"This item is, we received a submission of a service plan for a proposed health services district, which would be on the West End of Montrose County," Julie Andrews said, explaining the first step in the statutory process is setting a public hearing. Commissioner Kirsten Copeland moved to set the hearing for June 3, 2026 at 3:00 p.m.; the chair seconded and the motion passed with all present commissioners voting in favor.
The June 3 hearing will allow the public and affected entities to comment on the service plan before the board considers further action under the statute.
