Montrose airport contracts and apron engineering amendment headed to commissioners

Lloyd briefed the Board of County Commissioners on May 18 about several airport items slated for Wednesday’s agenda, asking that they remain on consent after counsel review.
He said staff reviewed a ground transportation agreement with Teroid Car Services LLC (DBA Alpine Luxury Limo) and noted it represents annual revenue for the airport. He also described a proposed 14th amendment to the on-call architectural and engineering agreement with Corrigan Associates for design work tied to reconstruction of failing concrete panels and an eastern asphalt section at the Montrose commercial apron (MTJ). Lloyd said the amendment amount is $509,565 and the reconstructed apron sections will be built to support 275,000-pound weight-bearing capacity.
Lloyd described a proposed ground lease with Lewis Energy Lands, LLC for half of a vacated hangar at $2,000 per month (the other half is similarly priced, yielding $4,000 total if fully leased). He said the hangar would be used for aeronautical and aviation purposes. He also described a proposal to install a new flight information display system with InFAX with an up-front installation cost of $41,795 and an annual service fee of $15,950, noting the existing vendor (ProdigiQ) is discontinuing the service.
Commissioners asked clarifying questions about hangar location and airport fee parity; Lloyd said the hangar pricing is in line with market value at this airport. Staff and commissioners agreed to keep these items on the consent agenda for the formal meeting.
No formal votes were taken at the work session; each item will appear on Wednesday’s agenda for formal consideration.
