Lloyd (speaker 7), airport staff, told the board May 4 that two grants from the Colorado Bureau of Aeronautics—funded by aviation fuel tax revenue—would match federal grants to rehabilitate taxiways and intersections at New Cal Hopkins Field.
Lloyd identified one federal grant amount as $731,068 and said the Bureau would participate with a state share while the county would provide a matching portion. He noted that the grants tie to previously approved federal awards for Taxiways C and D and that recent board approvals finalized the federal portion for runway crossing work. When commissioners asked about any federal funding holdups, Lloyd replied there had not been any.
Commissioners agreed to leave the airport grant items on consent so staff can complete necessary resolutions and documentation for the matching funds and for formal action at the regular meeting.
