County increases Summit Water Engineers contract cap to $25,000 as West End water-court filings proceed

The Montrose County Board of County Commissioners reviewed and agreed to keep on consent a contract amendment raising the not-to-exceed total for Summit Water Engineers to $25,000 to cover services in ongoing West End water cases.
Julie Andrus told commissioners that the original contract cap had been $8,500 and that the consultant, Brandon Eflin, had reached that level after providing services last year and year to date. "I upped it to $25,000," Andrus said, explaining the amendment added benchmarks and reflected additional work through recent filings.
Andrus said the West End related water-court filing occurred at the end of February and described April and May as the period when opposition can file; she recommended the county hold conversations with West End stakeholders before the end of May to review next steps and status updates.
Commissioners indicated they were comfortable leaving the amendment on the consent agenda for formal action at the regular meeting. No formal vote was taken during the work session.
