The Town of Beaver Dam board met July 8 and approved a series of routine and operational items, including license approvals, a trial change to town dump access, and payment of bills.
The board unanimously approved the prior meeting minutes and several licensing items. The board changed the Farmers Market liquor license from a Class A to a Class B license (motion by Liz Kern, second by Dave Raue) and approved a Temporary Class B license for the Ham N Jam event; operator licenses for Cassandra R. Hurst, Morgan Henning, Rebecca L. Omen, Annika B. Salettel and Sara M. Duer were also approved by unanimous vote.
To address repeated illegal brush dumping at the Town Hall dump site, the board approved a trial of two temporary metal gates and established new trial hours: the dump will be open the first Tuesday of each month from 1–6 p.m. and the first and third Saturdays from 9 a.m. to noon. The motion to install temporary gates was made by Dave Raue and seconded by Jesse Hankes and carried unanimously.
The board approved payment of bills totaling $17,343.93 (motion by Liz Kern, second by Dean Hughes). The meeting adjourned at 8:22 p.m.
The clerk also reminded members of the Board of Review meeting scheduled for Thursday evening and reported she is pursuing a refund from GFL for recycling-service issues in June; the board noted multiple complaints about GFL and indicated the service contract may be discussed or rebid at a future meeting.
