Cherokee Village council approves bridge repairs, propane contract and court-agreement ratification; ADU ordinance tabled

The Cherokee Village City Council on June 11 unanimously approved a series of routine items, including funding for bridge repairs, a propane contract and a court-related resolution, and tabled an accessory-dwelling-unit (ADU) ordinance pending final language.
The council voted to authorize up to $70,000 for repairs to the Flathead Bridge. Council Member J. Tatum moved to proceed with repairs and to approve the funding; Council Member Martin seconded the motion, which passed on a roll-call vote of 7–0. Mayor Rose noted the ARDOT report on the bridge is included in the council packet.
The council also approved Resolution 2026-01, which ratifies an agreement stated on the record in Fulton County Circuit Court Case No. 25CV-25-100. Council Member Lowe moved to adopt the resolution; Council Member Thompson seconded. The motion passed unanimously.
On procurement, the council reviewed two propane bids and awarded the one-year (July 1, 2026–June 30, 2027) contract to MFA Oil. City Clerk Penny Trumpy presented the bids and recommended a contract term aligned with the fiscal year. Council Member Martin moved to accept MFA Oil’s bid of $1.63 per gallon for 12,000 gallons with a $1.00-per-tank rental; Council Member J. Tatum seconded. The motion passed 7–0.
Council Member Lowe moved to table the ADU ordinance until the ordinance is finalized; Council Member J. Tatum seconded. The roll-call vote was unanimous, and the ordinance was tabled for further work.
The council adjourned into executive session at 6:50 p.m. to discuss a personal matter and returned at 7:06 p.m. with no decision announced. The meeting adjourned at 7:23 p.m.
