Beaverdam board moves Town Hall cleaning in-house, approves routine minutes and bills

The Town of Beaverdam board voted on Aug. 20 to discontinue its current Town Hall cleaning contract and assign cleaning duties to existing town staff, the board’s clerk recorded. The motion to move cleaning in-house was made by Liz Kern and seconded by Jesse Hankes and carried unanimously.
The decision was part of routine business at the meeting held at W8540 County Road W. The board also approved minutes from July 9 and Aug. 5 (motion Liz Kern/Dave Raue), accepted committee reports, and approved the treasurer’s report by unanimous votes.
The board approved payment of bills totaling $41,064.05 on a motion by Liz Kern, seconded by Jesse Hankes; the vote was recorded as unanimous among the five members present. The meeting minutes list Joe Kern, Liz Kern, Jesse Hankes, Dean Hughes and Dave Raue as present; Treasurer Nicole Banes was absent.
Clerk Aimee Mallon noted that training for the clerk and treasurer is scheduled in September and that Badgerbooks has arrived for the town but will not be used until 2025. The meeting adjourned at 8:07 p.m.
