The Lambert School Districts #86 & #4 Board of Trustees on March 23 approved a package of personnel, facilities and administrative actions, including a 2026–27 principal contract and the temporary opening of a 4th-grade position under Montana Office of Public Instruction (OPI) emergency certification procedures.
Chairperson Lacey Mullin called the meeting to order at 7:13 PM in the Lambert School Library. During the public-comment period Rebecca Kollman submitted a written comment expressing support for the elementary emergency-licensure posting and for the proposed principal contract. Mullin prefaced the public-comment period by reminding attendees that the board cannot discuss individual personnel matters or violate privacy: "This portion of the meeting is designated as a time for input/questions from the public on items that are not on the agenda. This does not include discussion about individual students, staff or faculty."
The board unanimously approved offering Principal Lacey Nevins a 2026–2027 contract at $72,450, a 5% increase over last year, and revised Section 5 of the contract to set the district's contribution for major medical health insurance at up to $14,545 for that school year. The motion to offer the contract was made by Cheyanne Rauschendorfer and passed on a unanimous vote.
On personnel compliance, the board voted to open the 4th-grade teaching position for a period so the district can comply with OPI emergency-certification rules. Board member Sara Huft emphasized that emergency certifications cannot be carried over from year to year and the district must advertise the position; if no suitable candidate appears within the advertised period, the board may then offer a contract under the emergency-certification protocol. The motion carried unanimously.
The trustees also approved the 2026–2027 school calendar, continued to fund transportation for students attending the National BPA Convention in Nashville, created a Class of 2032 activities account, and appointed Cheyanne Rauschendorfer as the board representative to the Cummings Scholarship Committee; all motions passed with unanimous votes.
