Lambert trustees allow county crews onto school grounds to mitigate road drainage

Ty Graves and Shannon Click of Richland County Public Works told the board that planned shoulder work on Main Street (Road 123) will likely alter drainage patterns near the school and asked for permission to access school property to perform dirt work to redirect runoff across Road 123. "This portion of the meeting is designated as a time for input/questions from the public on items that are not on the agenda," Chairperson Lacey Mullin prefaced; the county officials made their request during that public-comment time.
The board granted access by consensus, authorizing county crews to enter school grounds to mitigate anticipated drainage issues; the county representatives left the meeting after the exchange. The board did not record a formal vote on a written easement or a schedule for the work during this session.
The district clerk’s attendance notes list the county officials as present and departing at 7:08 PM; the board asked that the superintendent and county staff coordinate operational details and limits of access outside the public meeting.
