At its May 8 meeting, the Commission on Local Government approved the 2018 survey instrument used to collect information from localities eligible to receive cash proffers.
Policy Administrator J. David Conmy presented the survey tool and explained that although the 2017 legislative session made changes affecting cash proffers, the survey instrument itself has not been altered because localities have up to 12 years to expend proffered cash, and some existing proffers may now be considered unreasonable. Commissioner Victoria L. Hull moved to approve the survey instrument; the motion was seconded and approved.
Staff recorded that completed surveys are due to the Department of Housing and Community Development by Sept. 1, 2018. The minutes do not record a roll‑call vote or individual tallies for the motion; they record only the mover, seconder and that the motion carried.
