Commission approves $500,000 ADOT grant agreement to resurface County Road 93

The Jackson County Commission on July 13 approved an intergovernmental agreement with the Alabama Department of Transportation that provides up to $500,000 for resurfacing County Road 93 between County Road 262 and County Road 91.
Chairman of the commission presented the resolution and said the award is limited to state public road and bridge funds and that any construction cost overruns would be the county’s responsibility. Commissioners expressed appreciation to ADOT for the investment and noted the project will include additional safety work on the corridor.
Commission discussion included a request for clarification about guardrail installation and schedule; county staff said site work and project coordination are ongoing. The commission voted to authorize execution of the agreement and to have the chairman sign the contract and the county clerk attest the official seal.
The project will be administered through the formal agreement with ADOT and is expected to proceed under the terms described in the resolution. The commission approved the motion by voice vote.
