The Bonduel Area Fire Commission on March 20 approved Resolution 2025-06 to create a fee schedule for fire inspections and re-inspections and adopted revised Standard Operating Guidelines for the Bonduel Area Fire Department.
Fire Chief Kevin Lynch told commissioners he worked with an outside inspection company to coordinate annual commercial inspections and recommended a fee structure intended to cover follow-up work. Under the adopted schedule, the first inspection and the first re-inspection for commercial properties are free; each additional re-inspection will be charged $100. The commission also approved a $75 fee for immediate life-safety violations referred to the Bonduel Area Fire Department. The resolution was introduced by commission member Mike Miner, seconded by Russ Gehm, and passed by roll call unanimously.
The commission reviewed revisions to the department's Standard Operating Guidelines based on a July 18, 2024 draft that incorporated recommendations from Village Attorney Ashley Lehocky. Commission member Kevin Watermolen moved to approve the revisions, Tim Leitermann seconded, and the motion carried unanimously.
Commissioners also discussed updates to the department billing invoice, including adding the utility terrain vehicle (UTV) to the form. Mike Miner moved and Tim Leitermann seconded a directive for Chief Lynch to revise the invoice; the commission approved the change and asked that the updated form be presented at the next meeting.
The actions formalize new fees and internal operating practices; the commission did not identify an implementation date for the fee schedule during the March 20 meeting. The commission set its next meeting for April 17, 2025, when the updated invoice form is expected to be reviewed.
