Committee hears update on Montana criminal justice data warehouse implementation

Committee members asked for clarity on who will have access to different data sets, how personally identifiable information will be protected, and the legal basis for data sharing across agencies. Rep. Steven Kelly and Vice Presiding Officer Zooey Zephyr pressed staff on operational timelines and the availability of sample reports for legislative review.
The presenters identified outstanding items including finalized data‑sharing agreements and timing for public-facing reports. The committee did not take formal action but requested follow-up materials and timelines for when data products will be available to legislators.
