The administration ratified an emergency contract with Glenowich’s Demolition and Environmental Company for $114,700. Several council members urged staff to place a lien on the property and to withhold permits for other projects tied to the same developer until the city is reimbursed; corporation counsel confirmed a lien is an available legal remedy and staff said they would seek repayment before attaching a lien if possible.
Public Safety presented several housekeeping resolutions accepting gifts and a grant application for DWI enforcement. Sergeant Jim Woods described a resolution to contract with Extra Duty Solutions and a scheduling software provider to administer the police off‑duty program (no direct cost to the city), aiming to move the department away from paper‑based scheduling, increase accountability and reduce overtime abuse.
No votes were recorded in caucus; items were placed on the next council agenda for formal consideration.
