The Town of Milltown Board accepted the financial report ending Aug. 10, 2024 and the profit-and-loss statement ending July 31, 2024 and authorized payment of bills at its Aug. 14 meeting, including a $106,838.14 check to Meyer Sales for a new truck. The motion to accept the financials and pay the bills was moved by Jon Eckel and seconded by Chris Nelson and passed.
Board members discussed the town's 2017 truck after being told Meyer Sales would not take it as a trade. The board considered auctioning the vehicle, placing an ad or contacting buyers in New Richmond; Chris Nelson asked Frank Rau to check a New Richmond buyer and the clerk said she would hold off on advertising until the Sept. 16 meeting. Town staff told the board the new truck is expected to arrive in November 2024.
The board did not provide a roll-call tally in the record beyond the motion and second noted in the minutes. Clerk Cheryl Kloehn recorded the actions for the official minutes. The next board meeting is scheduled for Sept. 16, 2024, when members said they will revisit unresolved disposal options for the older truck.
