At its Sept. 16 meeting the Town of Milltown board approved a plan to place a donation box at Half Moon Lake to raise money for milfoil control and related lake maintenance. Ellen Butler and Mike McMahon requested the box and proposed sign wording; the motion approved the donation box and required Butler to present final sign wording to the board for approval.
Separately the board received one apron bid from S&A Contracting for $41,750 but tabled action pending a special meeting and an updated proposal that includes whether fiber mesh is omitted or included, a completion date and references. Chris Nelson moved to table the award and directed the clerk to request an updated bid.
The board also tabled a dehumidifier proposal and asked Maxwell Heating to attend the Oct. 14 meeting to answer members’ questions.
Finally, the board announced it hired maintenance worker Jim Bethke, with a start date of Oct. 7, 2024.
Minutes record motions and passed actions but do not include roll‑call tallies.
