Milltown board approves sand screening and six loads of cold mix from road budget; truck sale discussion moved to closed session

Jon Eckel moved to begin pre‑screening and purchase six loads of cold mix; Chris Nelson seconded and the motion passed.
Rau also reported on the 2017 tandem‑axle dump truck. He said Johnson Motors would not buy the truck because it has an International motor and advised listing it on WI Surplus; he mentioned local buyers such as Nicks Trucking and the Town of Grantsburg as potential purchasers. The board voted to move further discussion of selling the truck and the sale price into closed session.
The board reviewed a proposal from Delmore Consulting to inventory and rate culverts for $15,000 and decided not to pursue the service. Rau cited comparative market checks showing single‑axle trucks listed on WI Surplus for about $160,000 and quad trucks for $89,000 in Utah as background for fleet planning.
Rau also reported that 235th Street has soft edges after heavy rain; he said he will either grade the road this week or place gravel to repair the soft spots.
