Weiser Ambulance District presents 2027 budget packet; payroll, expenses approved and levy override discussed

The commissioners recessed into their capacity as the Board of the Weiser Ambulance District on July 6 so Ambulance Director Alan Foster and Administrative Assistant Claudia Licht could present the district's 2027 budget packet.
The packet included profit-and-loss comparisons, staffing and call-volume documentation, suggested staffing levels and compensation, and details on fee income. The board approved three orders presented by the clerk: payroll Order No. 26-37 for $22,508.76, payroll Order No. 26-38 for $24,196.35, and Order No. 26-39 for general expenses in the amount of $16,340.48. Each motion to approve was moved by Nate Marvin and seconded by Gordon Wilkerson and carried.
Board members discussed whether to pursue a levy override election in November to provide additional funding. Foster also requested gravel be placed in front of the Ambulance Hall; Commissioner Nate Marvin said he would contact Road and Bridge Supervisor Jerod Odoms to follow up on placing gravel.
The board then recessed from the Ambulance District session and reconvened as the Washington County Commissioners. No final decisions about a levy override were made at the meeting; the levy override was discussed as a possible option for additional funding.
