Oxford Community Schools board schedules April 15 special meeting after ethics discussion

Oxford Community Schools Board President Amanda McDonough said the board would reconvene to continue consideration of a possible violation of the Board of Education Code of Ethics.

The board discussed the alleged ethics concern during a facilitated workshop on April 11, 2026. "Following the discussion, the Board agreed to call a special meeting on April 15, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. to further discuss the matter," the minutes state. The minutes do not record a formal motion, the name of a mover or seconder, or a roll-call vote.

President Amanda McDonough presided over the workshop and facilitated the ethics discussion. The minutes list Trustee Acheson, Vice President Aldred, Trustee Campagiorni, Trustee Gibson and Treasurer Whitney as present; Secretary James Sommers was recorded as absent.

The special meeting will be limited to further consideration of the reported ethics matter, according to the minutes. The board did not record any public comments on the ethics issue in the April 11 minutes, and no staff report or document is attached to the minutes describing the alleged violation.

The district posted other upcoming board dates in the same minutes, including regular meetings on April 21 and May 5, 2026. The minutes list several graduating events; the entry for Oxford High School graduation is listed in the minutes as May 14, 2025, which appears to be a typographical error in the minutes. The board-adopted calendar shows graduation is scheduled in May 2026.

The board is scheduled to meet again at 6:00 p.m. on April 15, 2026 to continue its discussion of the Code of Ethics matter.
