Arundel manager announces conditional hire for deputy clerk role

The Arundel Select Board was told Monday that the town has extended a conditional offer for the deputy clerk position to Amber Farnsworth of Kennebunk.
Town Manager (speaker) said the offer is contingent on a background check but that "everything checked out" and Farnsworth is expected to begin work the following day. The manager said Farnsworth currently works at Kennebunk Savings Bank and brings customer-service and cash-handling experience but does not have prior municipal experience; the manager described the candidate as a good fit for the role.
No formal vote was recorded on the hire at the meeting beyond the manager’s announcement; the manager said the town clerk and tax collector led most of the candidate interviews and the manager interviewed a short list before making a recommendation.
Board members welcomed the prospective hire and the manager asked members to meet Farnsworth when she arrives.
