Tri-Center administrators brief board on spring sports, field trips and ISASP results

Principals Jami Bertelsen and Chad Harder, Athletic Director Cassie Harris and Curriculum Director Michelle Baatz updated the Tri-Center Comm School District Board of Education on spring activities, upcoming events and academic testing at the May 14 meeting.
Athletic Director Cassie Harris reported that spring sports are wrapping up and summer programs are beginning preparations; district postseason competition for boys and girls soccer is approaching. Rosters were noted as including 21 girls for softball and 38 boys for baseball, and games are scheduled to begin the following week. The Booster Club is working toward purchasing a sound system for the gym.
Elementary updates included planned trips and events: first grade to Rose, second grade to the Recycling Center, kindergarten to the zoo, and fifth grade to Fish Iowa; Becky Thomas was thanked for organizing a successful Track and Field Day. Step Up Day for elementary is scheduled for May 22; middle school reward day is also May 22; seniors' last day was May 14 and a senior trip is scheduled for May 19. Curriculum Director Michelle Baatz shared preliminary ISASP results; administration noted ongoing adjustments to high school and middle-school scheduling for next year.
Superintendent Angie Huseman and building leadership provided the updates during the administrative reports section; there was no public/staff forum at this meeting. The items were presented for the board’s information and to guide end-of-year operations and fall planning.
