The Clark Public Schools Board of Education approved a set of consent and action items, including last month’s minutes, personnel items, a curriculum item, policy updates and a finance slate during its regular meeting.
The board first moved to approve the minutes from the previous meeting, a motion that passed on a roll-call vote. The board then approved personnel items 1–21 after a motion by Mr. Small and a second from Miss Melnick; board member Miss McCarrick recorded abstentions on items 1–6 and 12–18. Curriculum item 22, moved by Miss Hickman and seconded by Mr. Bencivenga, passed on roll call. Policy items 23 and 24 (including district policy 23‑61 on acceptable use) were approved following a motion by Miss Taconis and a second from Mr. May.
The board considered governance items 25–26 and the finance slate for items 27–51. During the finance roll call several abstentions were noted: one member abstained on items 28–29; another abstained on item 41; Miss McCarrick announced additional abstentions on items 30–32, 41 and 46. Despite those abstentions, the finance motion carried.
These items were taken as part of the consent and action portions of the agenda and the chair confirmed the motions carried before proceeding to the superintendent’s report.
The meeting adjourned after a final motion and an affirmative vote. Next steps for several items are administrative implementation and any follow‑up required under district policy or finance committee oversight.
