Regina Toomey Bueno volunteered to serve as chair of the Township of Mahwah Historic Preservation Commission at the Feb. 19 meeting and asked fellow commissioners to take a more active role in commission activities.
Bueno said she would volunteer if "everyone is willing to pitch in more with activities," and said the commission should be able to show measurable progress month to month. Members discussed the need to appoint a Vice Chair as well; the commission agreed to defer that appointment until a meeting with broader attendance.
No formal election or vote took place on Feb. 19; members said they will revisit officer appointments when more members are present.
