Larkspur Fire recommends dry hydrant at Perry Park fire pond; District told it will shoulder costs

The Perry Park Metropolitan District heard Sept. 11 that the Larkspur Fire Protection District recommends installing a dry hydrant at a District-owned fire pond.
Director Keith A. Worley reported that Larkspur Fire determined a dry hydrant is the preferred option. Worley and Director Joseph Brickweg said they will obtain cost estimates for installation, which may require constructing a vehicle turnout pad. Board members were told that Larkspur Fire previously committed to share costs but has since withdrawn that commitment; a Larkspur Fire representative told the Board the fire district will still provide technical expertise.
Board members were given a roughly 1.5-year timeline to complete the project. No formal funding decision was recorded at the Sept. 11 meeting; Worley and Brickweg will return with cost estimates and recommendations for paying for design and construction.
