At its July 13 meeting Aransas Pass ISD trustees approved several administrative actions: a two‑year memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Del Mar College for dual‑enrollment through Aug. 31, 2028; the hire of a new Charlie Marshall Elementary principal; a contract for campus security services; and a resolution declaring a good‑cause exception to the House Bill 3 armed security officer requirement.
On the dual‑enrollment MOU, administration said the revised agreement clarifies eligible courses, distinguishes continuing‑education courses from dual‑credit courses, sets transcript and compliance responsibilities and includes a pricing appendix that adds a $50 per‑test fee for certain assessments. Trustees clarified the effective term (the document states a two‑year term ending Aug. 31, 2028) and approved the agreement by motion.
The board entered executive session for personnel matters and later reconvened in open session to approve a hire for Charlie Marshall Elementary principal; administration announced Linda Baron as the new principal and trustees welcomed her.
Trustees then voted to approve a security services contract for the 2026–2027 school year and identified Southern Security as the recommended vendor. The board subsequently approved a resolution to declare a good‑cause exception for the House Bill 3 armed security officer requirement for the district.
All actions were approved by motion and voice vote as recorded in the meeting transcript; individual roll‑call tallies were not included in the transcript.
