Montello fire chief says new engine arriving in 2026; inspections sent to state

Chief Jon Vote told the City of Montello Public Safety Committee on Jan. 15 that the department’s new engine is scheduled to arrive in 2026 and that fire inspections for the period have been completed and submitted to the state.
The update came as the committee reviewed the fire department’s quarterly report. Vote did not provide a precise delivery date for the engine beyond the 2026 calendar year, nor did he provide a cost estimate in the meeting record.
The report noted that required inspections were finished and the paperwork was transmitted to the state agency that receives local fire inspection reports. The committee did not take action on the fire department item during the meeting.
The committee’s next Public Safety meeting is scheduled for Feb. 19, 2025.
