Applicant William Glenn told council the facility is designed primarily for youth baseball and softball training but will accommodate broader athletic training and community use. "My name is William Glenn. I am the owner of the Warren Track along with my partner, John Paulette," Glenn said, describing plans for membership key‑card access, separate front parking for about nine to 10 vehicles, and mentorship programs for local youth.
During public comment, Meriwether Putney, who said he has long experience in Little League and local sports, supported the project and noted it will draw participants from neighboring counties. He told the council the facility would be "a great asset to the town."
The planning commission recommended approval with the conditions presented by staff. A council member moved to adopt ordinance 2024‑08; after a roll‑call voice confirmation, the motion carried with all members recorded in favor.
