Afton renews liquor licenses, approves some catering permits and tables others
Summary
The council unanimously renewed multiple liquor licenses, approved a C & G catering permit for July 3 and a Prohibition Outpost private-party permit for July 12, and voted 3–2 to table several Prohibition Outpost dates (May/June). Police reported no objections to renewals.
The Afton Town Council on May 12 unanimously renewed several retail and restaurant liquor licenses after Police Chief Jason Romberg said he had no objections.
C & G, LLC (represented by Crystal McGee) requested a catering beverage permit for July 3, 2026; the council approved the permit unanimously. Prohibition Outpost LLC sought a series of catering permits for "Friday Night Lights" (May 22, May 29, June 5 and June 12); the council voted 3–2 to table those permits, a result the minutes say effectively denies the May dates and the first June date. Later on the same agenda, the council unanimously approved a separate Prohibition Outpost permit for a private-party event on July 12, 2026 at the Lincoln County Fairground Building.
The minutes record the May/June tabling vote as ayes from Council Members Dirk Hillyard, Will Wilkes and Mayor Jeff Jensen, with Council Members Scott Griffith and Brock Brown voting no.
