Resident urges action on foot traffic and litter near Anchor Point

During the public comment period on July 6, Ashley (Village of the Potomac) told the council she has lived in Indian Head for several years and praised the community, but raised concerns about increased foot traffic and litter connected to the Anchor Point development. She said teenagers cut through yards and loiter in the neighborhood, particularly during the school year, and noted there is no bus stop directly at Anchor Point that might reduce that behavior. Ashley said she often collects trash herself.
Mayor Brandon Paulin said he had received Ashley’s earlier email and had forwarded the concerns to Charles County Public Schools. He said the school system could not change bus routes during the school year but that he would follow up to see what could be done before the new school year begins. Ashley offered to help with any solution and Mayor Paulin and Ashley agreed to continue the discussion by email.
The council took no formal action on the complaint during the meeting.
