Indian Head moves forward on Boardwalk parking, splash pad and dock repairs

Town Manager Ryan Hicks told the council the Riverwatch Drive parking project has been rebid to add 24 spaces to the Boardwalk parking area and is awaiting bids. He said construction will resume on the East Poplar stormwater project in spring and that the splash pad project will be advertised for bid this month.
Hicks said Mattingly Park restrooms are closed for the season and will reopen April 1, 2026. The town has applied to the Maryland Department of Natural Resources (DNR) for grant funding to repair the Mattingly Park dock; award letters are expected in summer 2026 and staff will develop an RFP if the grant is awarded. He also reported the town is working with ChargePoint to repair the Town Hall EV charging station and has received a replacement quote for the outdated unit.
These projects, Hicks said, are part of the town's broader capital maintenance and park‑improvement program and will move to procurement once bids or grant awards are finalized.
