Town Manager Ryan Hicks provided a multi-item update on the town’s capital and maintenance work during the Feb. 2 meeting.
He said the Riverwatch Drive parking project will add 24 spaces adjacent to the boardwalk and will be placed back out for bids; the original boardwalk contractor plans to provide a price. Construction on the East Poplar stormwater design project is scheduled to resume in spring, and staff indicated Verizon must relocate several utility poles to allow some of that work.
Recreation projects include contracted work on the splash pad, where contractor Raindeck submitted questions that staff addressed, and a DNR grant application to repair the Mattingly Park dock (award letters expected Summer 2026) with an RFP in development. Hicks also noted Mattingly Park restrooms are closed for the season.
On facilities and equipment, staff is working with ChargePoint to repair the Town Hall EV charging station and has received a quote to replace the unit. The town’s leaf vacuum program has concluded for the season.
No formal votes were taken on these items; Hicks described next steps as re-bidding, contractor coordination and preparing procurement/ RFP documents.
