Indian Head posts December finance, code-enforcement and permit reports; council approves minutes

The Town of Indian Head presented routine financial and permitting reports at its Jan. 5, 2026 meeting, and the council approved minutes from previous meetings by voice vote.
Councilwoman Cassandra Stillwell moved to approve the Dec. 1 town meeting minutes and the Dec. 17 work session minutes; Mayor Brandon Paulin seconded the motion. The minutes were approved by voice vote, recorded as 2 Ayes, 0 Nays.
The December finance report (Dec. 1–31, 2025) showed total revenues of $95,768.79 and total expenditures of $338,100.16, producing a cash balance of $523,644.42 on Dec. 31, 2025. The report listed Old Line investment accounts with a combined total of $1,029,663.77 (Park Fund $16,732.99; Boardwalk $36,351.50; Sewer/Water $51.68; Refuse Fund $112,713.92; Highway User $863,813.68). The sewer bond (American Funds) balance was listed as $0.00.
The code-enforcement report for December 2025 recorded 22 notices of violation: 1 grass/weeds, 4 rubbish/garbage, 4 zoning/permit, 3 rental license, 7 property maintenance, 1 nuisance/noise and 5 inoperative/untagged vehicle violations. The town completed 10 rental inspections during the month and cleared 12 violations.
The building-use and occupancy and sign-permits report listed several December permits: on Dec. 3, Roebbelen Contracting, Inc. filed a change-in-use/overhead door installation at 4310 Indian Head Hwy; Dec. 3 listed Ronald Hare for a carport at 4435 Indian Head Hwy; Dec. 19 listed Christopher Simms for a shed at 17 East Poplar Lane; and Dec. 29 listed Deck Armor, LLC for a new deck at 11 Rivers Edge Terrace. The report said no temporary use, right-of-way, demolition or grading permits were issued in December.
The Planning Commission meeting for December was canceled, and the town manager's report was deferred until February. With no further business, Mayor Paulin adjourned the meeting at 7:23 p.m.
