That tweak would let cities such as Gaithersburg or Rockville participate without needing to rename local plans; the chair noted state approval and State Highway Administration permitting would still be required where projects involve state highways.
Chair Spiegle said the committee will pursue a formal drafting tweak and hopes to have it ready for review so the body may vote next Monday if the amendment is finalized.
