Mahwah Board of Adjustment approves setback variances for 5 Adams Court

The Township of Mahwah Board of Adjustment on Feb. 4 approved a “C” variance allowing reduced front- and rear-yard setbacks for the dwelling and steps at 5 Adams Court (Docket #25-1611) after a 7–0 roll-call vote.
The Township of Mahwah Board of Adjustment voted unanimously Feb. 4 to grant a “C” variance allowing reduced front- and rear-yard setbacks for a house and steps at 5 Adams Court.
The decision came after applicant Vincent Sparacio and consultant Steve Saffer of Pomona Enterprises were sworn and presented the application. The board recorded specific measurements offered by the applicant: a front-yard setback to the dwelling of 29.6 feet where 30 feet is required; a front-yard setback to the steps of 23.51 feet where 28 feet is required; and a rear-yard setback to the steps of 24.69 feet where 28 feet is required.
During the work session, board member Michael Kearney said he visited the property and saw no issues; Mr. Taylor said he agreed. On a motion by Mr. Molfetta, seconded by Mr. Kearney, the board approved the application. The roll-call vote recorded aye votes from Mr. Calijone, Mr. Kasparian, Mr. Kearney, Mr. Lockwood, Mr. Molfetta, Mr. Taylor and Chairman Mr. Cannava.
The board closed the public hearing on the application before moving into the work session where the vote was taken. No members of the public spoke for or against the application during the hearing.
