At its Feb. 11 meeting, the Mahwah Environmental Commission heard an update on planning for the township’s 2026 Green Fair. Karin LaGreca, identified as the commission’s Sustainable Jersey consultant, said "save the date" notices have already run on the township’s public access broadcast and on Facebook and encouraged commissioners to continue reaching out to potential vendors.
LaGreca asked Council Liaison Janet Ariemma to request that the Township Council add a digital notice promoting the event. Chair Richard Wolf suggested that Ben Kezmarsky could assist with outreach. LaGreca emphasized ongoing recruitment of vendors and outreach to expand participation.
Commissioners also discussed where to display the commission’s Sustainable Jersey plaque within municipal facilities. LaGreca said the plaque "should be displayed somewhere within the building," and members suggested several possible locations, including the senior center, the main floor, and the conference room where the commission meets. No formal decision on plaque placement was recorded.
The commission did not set a final location for the plaque at the meeting; members were encouraged to continue outreach for the Green Fair and to return with placement recommendations at a future meeting.
