At its April 13 meeting the Afton Town Council approved three subdivision applications: the Honeybee Meadows Second Addition (major subdivision) and two simple subdivisions that adjust property boundaries in the original townsite.
Town Administrator Violet Sanderson described the Honeybee Meadows Second Addition (Honey Bee Ranch Second Addition on the agenda) as a replat that creates Lots 6–19 and modifies several lot sizes to accommodate duplex units. Planning & Zoning, the Utility Board, and the Council had previously approved the master plan and preliminary plat; the Planning & Zoning Board recommended final approval with conditions. The council accepted those recommendations and authorized Mayor Jason C. Inskeep to sign the final plat.
Conditions attached to approval include: a drainage basin at the western point of the subdivision within the multi‑family zoned area before any Phase III building permits are issued; a developers agreement recorded prior to the mayor signing the final plat; a letter of credit equal to 125% of the anticipated cost of improvements; placement of square‑footage figures for each lot on the plat in addition to acreage; and filing of the final plat within two years of approval.
Sanderson also presented two simple subdivisions submitted by surveyor Marlowe Scherbel: a Titensor/Lisota boundary adjustment to move lines to the center of Swift Creek (creating Lots 8 and 9 of Block 3 Third Addition) and a Rogers‑Gardner/Draney adjustment to match existing fence lines (creating Lots 4 and 5 of Block 9 Second Addition). Both applications were approved with the same permit condition that significant alterations require further permitting and that the final plat be filed within two years.
Council members moved and seconded the motions and all three approvals carried unanimously as recorded in the meeting minutes; the transcript does not include a numeric vote tally.
