The Afton Town Council on April 14 unanimously approved a proposal from Star Valley Events to hold a weekly summer event called "Friday Night Lights" on town-owned property behind the downtown businesses (the East Alley).
Krista Tidwell of Star Valley Events presented the proposal, which would run Fridays from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. beginning May 22 and continuing through Sept. 11, 2026. Council Member Will Wilkes moved to approve the event and Council Member Dirk Hillyard seconded; the motion carried unanimously.
Town staff did not record additional permit conditions in the meeting minutes; organizers and staff are expected to complete any required permitting or follow-up logistics through regular town channels before the first event. The council’s approval grants permission to use the town-owned East Alley for the stated dates and times.
The council approved the event as part of routine agenda business; no public comments on the event were recorded.
