Council approves $15,000 allocation for July 4 parade security and barriers

On June 22 the Enumclaw City Council approved Resolution 18-81, an amendment to the Chamber of Commerce provision of service agreement to provide additional funding for July 4 parade security.
Parks Director Lina Hicks said the resolution would allocate $15,000 previously authorized by the council: $8,500 to pay for barriers lining the parade route, $2,500 to cover overtime for six additional city staff, and $4,000 to the chamber to hire private security and event staffing. Hicks told the council staff recommended approval of the resolution to formalize how the previously authorized funds would be spent. (Lina Hicks)
A motion to approve Resolution 18-81 was moved and seconded; the council voted in favor and the resolution passed as presented. Staff noted the funds had already been authorized in a prior meeting and this action allocated the amounts to specific uses for the parade.
The council then moved to adjourn and ended the meeting at 7:30 p.m.
