City staff reported that the Cheese Trail expansion design is complete and construction stakes are in place; the work will begin when crews are available, with preliminary grading and gravel work planned for late September or early October.
A staff member said the crew scheduling for street projects will determine when the trail work starts and that the initial phase should not take long. “We’ve got it designed and, actually, construction stakes are out there,” the staff member said, adding that the city is also looking at other, more permanent larger sites for long-term service needs.
During member business, the chair asked about surface condition on 4th Avenue West in front of Greenco and SK Plastics, describing washboard pavement and puddling. The staff member said spray-paint marks visible on the pavement relate to paving load markings and that a television camera inspection of the sanitary sewer is being run to check for possible settlement in the trench.
Board members did not make any motions or set project deadlines during the update and requested staff continue coordinating work schedules and inspections. The meeting then moved to adjournment.
