Delanco approves shared-service SRO agreement and swears in Jamie Landau; consent agenda passes

Resolutions 2026-102 and 2026-103 authorized a shared-service agreement for a Class III special law enforcement officer and the hiring of an SRO, Jamie Landau. The committee approved the consent agenda by roll call; all members present voted yes on the package. Immediately after the vote, an oath of office was administered to Jamie Landau.
The police chief reported monthly statistics and spoke to Landau’s background: Landau retired from Burlington City after 25 years of service and had experience as a lead detective and in investigations the chief said will be valuable in the school setting.
The consent agenda also included: an extension of third-quarter taxes pursuant to NJSA 54:4-66.3; purchase of a police vehicle under state cooperative purchasing; submission of a COPS hiring grant application; a change order for the NJDOT FY '25 municipal aid roadway work and township-funded paving; an award for a CDBG handicap-ramp improvement project to Ronald Paving LLC; and payment of the bill list totaling $563,873.61. Committee members spoke briefly in favor of keeping the police fleet rotated and up to date.
Committee members said they look forward to working with the schools on the SRO arrangement; staff indicated a grant application will be submitted to help fund the position, though receipt of grant funds was not guaranteed.
