Oneida County Public Safety Committee elects Michael Tautges as vice chair, approves Clerk of Circuit Court 2027 staffing request

Chairperson Russ Fisher called the Oneida County Public Safety Committee to order at 9:30 a.m. on June 11, 2026, at the Oneida County Courthouse Committee Room No. 2 and confirmed the meeting notice had been posted in accordance with the Wisconsin Open Meeting Law.

The committee unanimously approved the meeting agenda on a motion by Supervisor Ted Cushing, seconded by Supervisor Michael Tautges, and then approved the April 9, 2026 meeting minutes on a motion by Supervisor Michael Tautges, seconded by Supervisor Linnaea Newman (both motions passed 4-0).

Chairperson Fisher opened nominations for vice chair. Supervisor Ted Cushing moved to nominate Supervisor Michael Tautges and Supervisor Linnaea Newman seconded; the motion to nominate and to close nominations passed unanimously, 4-0, making Michael Tautges the committee’s vice chair.

The committee set its next meeting for July 9, 2026, at 9:30 a.m.; the chair noted the committee does not participate via Zoom. Chairperson Fisher reported that vouchers and line-item transfers for public safety departments had been received and were within budget; no committee vote was taken on those items.

On the Clerk of Circuit Court’s annual staffing request for 2027, the committee approved the request on a motion by Supervisor Linnaea Newman, seconded by Supervisor Ted Cushing (passed 4-0).

There were no public comments recorded during the meeting. The committee briefly discussed procedures for requesting future agenda items; Chairperson Fisher said he would follow up with additional information. The meeting adjourned at 9:43 a.m.
