The Beachwood Land Use Board on June 22 voted to adjourn three bulk-variance applications for properties tied to the Briar Way road-extension project to the Board’s next regular meeting on July 13, 2026.
Applicant representative Mr. Lipton, who was sworn in by board counsel, asked the Board to postpone the hearings “without further notice” to the next available meeting. Board Counsel Kelsey McGuckin-Anthony, Esq., told the Board that two factors supported the adjournment: “The revised road plans were not submitted at least ten (10) days prior to the meeting,” and “the Board has retained a new engineer who will require additional time to review the applications.”
The Board approved a motion to adjourn the three items — listed in the agenda as Briar Way Road Extension, 437 Briar Way, and 445 Briar Way — on a motion by Mr. Martin, seconded by Vice Chairman Abramski. All members present voted in favor; Mr. Terrana recorded an abstention. Board Secretary Meredith Triolo confirmed that the next available meeting for the continued hearings is scheduled for July 13, 2026. The minutes record that Mr. Terrana, as a newly appointed member, must listen to recordings of the prior Briar Way hearings to be eligible to vote when the matter returns.
The Board also approved the minutes of its June 8, 2026 meeting on a motion by Mr. Martin, seconded by Vice Chairman Abramski; that vote likewise carried with Mr. Terrana abstaining.
The public-comment portion of the meeting was opened by motion and, hearing no speakers, closed shortly thereafter. The Board adjourned at 6:09 p.m.
