Hearing officer takes ADU conditional-use permit under advisement; staff recommended approval

Santa Fe County staff on July 1 recommended approval of a conditional use permit for a 1,400-square-foot accessory dwelling unit (ADU) on a 10.571-acre parcel in the Tesuque Community Overlay (Case 26-5110).
Jerome Roybal, a development review specialist senior, told the hearing the application meets relevant SLDC standards for access, fire protection, utilities and historic/resource protections and listed conditions of approval including a recorded CUP site development plan, prohibition on drilling an additional well, shared utilities with the primary residence, and required permits from the New Mexico Environment Department for septic work.
Architect Christopher Purvis, representing applicant Susan McCloskey, described the proposed three-bedroom guest house as Pueblo Revival in style, set into the hillside and intended for immediate family use. Purvis confirmed the applicant would abide by staff’s listed conditions.
No members of the public appeared to oppose the application during the hearing. Hearing officer Joe Haupp said he would take the matter under advisement and submit a written recommendation to the Planning Commission within 15 business days.
