Mexico City Council on Tuesday approved a $16,588 change order for the North Washington Street stormwater improvement project, city staff said.
City staff presented the change order as part of the project funded through an ARPA grant, saying unforeseen site conditions — including bedrock, additional quantities for driveway and ADA sidewalk work, retaining-wall adjustments and sanitary sewer repairs — increased costs. “This change order is for a total of $16,588,” a city staff member said during the presentation.
Staff said the work represents a near-final adjustment to quantities and that asphalt paving will occur once plants reopen in spring; the city does not expect additional major expenses beyond the change order. The resolution (Bill 20 26 0 1) authorizes the city manager to sign change order number 2 with Plan B Development LLC for the North Washington Street Stormwater Improvement project, as part of ARPA grant DNR SW E6ACF0D6A299.
The council moved for reading by title and passed the resolution by roll-call vote; the record shows each member voting yes. The staff presentation said the change order is intended to reconcile final quantities and allow the project to be closed out administratively before final asphalt work.
The project team plans final seeding and grading ahead of paving; staff said asphalt work is expected when plants reopen in April.
