At its Feb. 7 meeting the Clifton Town Council approved a package of routine new-business items including a lease extension, a youth event and a community safety event.
The council voted by roll‑call to approve a one‑year lease extension for the Pink House rear building at the current rent of $1,300 per month, with the option for tenants to accept a two‑year extension at $1,400 per month. Mayor Bill Hollaway moved the motion and Councilmember Darrell Poe seconded; the motion was approved by roll‑call with all members voting aye.
The council also approved a request from Clifton Scout Troop 1104 to hold its annual lock‑in at Town Hall March 25–26 and waived the facility use fee in recognition of the Scouts’ community work; Councilmember Poe moved the approval and Mayor Hollaway seconded, and the motion passed by poll 6-0.
Finally, the council approved a Clifton Lions Club/DEA Drug Take‑Back event for April 22, 2023 at Clifton Presbyterian Church and authorized erecting a banner across Main Street beginning about April 7; Mayor Hollaway moved the motion and it passed 6-0.
